Psalms‬ ‭147:1-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Praise the Lord! How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting! The Lord is rebuilding Jerusalem and bringing the exiles back to Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! The Lord supports the humble, but he brings the wicked down into the dust. Sing out your thanks to the Lord; sing praises to our God with a harp. He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, and makes the grass grow in mountain pastures. He gives food to the wild animals and feeds the young ravens when they cry. He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.”
‭‭

In our lives, there will be many times that we’ll question what God is doing. We can’t see the beginning to the end. We can’t fully understand why He does what He does. But through these scriptures we know that God does the following: (He rebuilds. He gathers. He heals. He bandages. He counts. He calls. He supports. He brings. He covers. He provides. He makes grow. He gives. He feeds.)

*He does ALL THINGS in and through his own abilities.

*God doesn’t depend on our strength to get things done, but He executes His plans skillfully, and makes it work for EVERYONE!

So if you’re going through a season where you’re struggling to find reasons to be thankful, remember that God sees and hears you. He understands and WILL guide you past your feelings. Don’t depend on your own strength to get through the day, but choose to place your HOPE in the one who does All Things Well!

With Thanksgiving being today, and so much that still needs to get done, take at least 10-15 minutes to think of his unfailing love towards you.

While you sit and reflect, remember that even in your stillness God is still moving. His system is still set in place. The birds are still getting fed. His breath of life is still flowing through your lungs. From the smallest to the greatest, things are still happening all around you that don’t necessarily require your participation.

*God continues to move. He puts things in their proper place.

The scripture above says “Sing out your thanks to the Lord” but sometimes it can be hard to do that when you’re focused on the wrong things.

Every day, we all need little reminders of why we should give thanks to God. We often take life for granted and then get distracted by what we don’t have, instead of focusing on all the little joys we can experience in living a fulfilling life in Christ.

Let’s not wait for something external to initiate our praise.

Let your Thanksgiving stem from your acknowledgment of what God has done and continues to do for you each and every single day.

He keeps you.

He strengthens you.

He provides you with everything you need!

You see, we have to get back to the basics and become THANKFUL to God for EVERYTHING because if we don’t, we’ll walk around carrying emotions that are not productive to our walk as Christians.

Yes, Thank you, Lord, for life.
Thank you for shelter.
Thank you for our health and for friends and family to do life with.

Thank you for the humble beginnings that will lead to beautiful outcomes in your perfect timing.

Thank you for your word that refreshes us daily.

Lord, thank you for your provision.

Thank You that we can call you Father.

Thank you, that we can come before you at any time of the day, and sit with you for a while to discuss ANY & EVERYTHING!

Thank you for the Holy Spirit that speaks to us throughout our days and instructs us! That when you say “Go, Stop, Wait and Be Still” that we know that we can trust it because those instructions are coming from you.

Let your THANKS flow from a grateful heart.

Let your worship flow from admonishing who He is before you meditate on what He can give you.

See Him above EVERYTHING. Not the other way around!

WE ALL have a lot to be grateful for!

So throughout today and this holiday season, I hope these simple words encourage you to give God the praise He deserves.

Let’s celebrate His Goodness because His goodness flows to everyone!

Have a Blessed Day Family.
