This Holiday Season

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Being able to be content in whatever season you’re presently in is a constant attempt to preserve your peace, hope, and faith in God. It can be a struggle, especially, when this holiday season is quickly approaching. Remember, that you are still blessed and highly favored; while walking the malls, watching TV advertisements/commercials and seeing people being able to purchase every little thing their hearts desire.

The excess of materialistic possessions, the openness to go after and retrieve the items that they want, while you may very well be in a season of lack. This can be hard to bear because you might not have the ability to do those things or you might even be struggling this year to put dinner on the table.

God loves you and doesn’t want you to get emotionally entangled with what the world puts before you. He wants you to be empowered through the above scripture and understand that you can either choose to look around grumbling and complaining about what you don’t have… stressing out… getting angry… being restless or you can choose to be “Content”.

Being content is not giving up on your wants and dreams but it’s acknowledging even though you have not achieved all of what you want/ need that you can maintain your peace as you wait.

Focus your attention on what you do have. If you can share the holidays with your family or friends, then enjoy them to the fullest, not taking them for granted. If you have a job that you love and desire to continue working on building your empire, then do that, knowing that every second will be worth your sacrifice. Don’t allow others to make you feel guilty for striving for your idea and level of excellence.

Even if you have the financial means to abundantly enjoy your holiday, enjoy it! Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about being successful. Yet, still keep in mind how you have been blessed to be a blessing. So bless the poor, the needy, the fatherless child, the widow, those who feel forgotten and unloved.

Instead of shopping hard to find the perfect gift…

“You Be The Gift”

Gift others with joy, peace, love, strength, encouragement, compassion, song, dance, music, prayers and the most important gift of all, Jesus Christ!

These gifts are eternal!

In closing, I pray for your safety in this holiday season. That you keep your sanity and that you continue to be bold and to stand strong. Bless someone with both your materialistic gifts and your eternal gifts. Give what you can and in whatever season you’re presently in, be at peace with what God has already given you. Not looking outside of that but, instead holding on tightly to it because the Father has already given you what you need!
