Proverbs 16:2 ESV
“All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.”
Pure is not always pure & just is not always just when the Lord examines your heart. You could boldly present your case about any subject but if God finds within you anger, malice, deceit, jealousy, covetousness etc…even further, a spirit of division…… then your well-meaning intention is no longer a good one.
Our mission is to become more like Christ. If that be the case, we should exhibit His traits, His character, His way of viewing things.
So anything that doesn’t look like Him, talk like Him, act like Him isn’t of Him but is representing more of the world’s example of how we should live (we are not students of the world but of the Father.)
He brings peace, joy, love….. He is a healer & deliverer. He mends the hearts of broken vessels who have faith enough to believe they can be made whole. He brings correction & He restores……. (we must learn to be restorers His way, not our way which can be quite forceful, demanding & giving ultimatums)
Once we can recognize the traits of our Father, then we will be able to recognize that much more, who is not like Him. Not leading us to condemn but to continue praying for them, keeping in mind that they are at a different place in their spiritual walk. Yes, you might want to shake them, stir them and motivate them to adjust their focus/ perspective but you can only plant the seed, water it and watch God cause the increase at His appointed time.
Matthew 10:14 ESV
“And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town.”
(Shake the dust off your feet and keep it moving but don’t allow others to keep you from planting the seed. It’s needed and oh so necessary but don’t plant with the intent of reaping a harvest right then and there….. growth takes time.)
Take the time to discover the intentions of other peoples hearts & even your own.
